Conservation of Collections

Heritage conservation is crucial to ensure that future generations can enjoy the documentary archives we inherited from our ancestors in the best possible condition. It is our duty to preserve them for future users.

Vacuum Cleaner France is Samsic's subsidiary specializing in the conservation of collections for archives and libraries. It also provides lead abatement services.

Vacuum Cleaner France offers highly technical services, thanks to its teams of trained technicians, its specialized equipment, its specific processes for the various services and its Quality Monitoring.

The conservation of collections makes it possible to prevent and/or slow down deterioration of documentary heritage. The processes include preventive conservation to minimize the causes of deterioration, and curative conservation to minimize the effects of deterioration.

  • Preventive Conservation: dust removal from the environment, unpacking and dusting of documents, boxes, supports and objects, repacking, classification and listing, moving archives,
  • Curative Conservation: analysis and detection of anomalies, freezing, freeze-drying, disinfection by fumigation or ethylene oxide, dust removal,

The procedures are carried out directly on site or in the treatment room in our workshops in Créteil.
